A Bhopal court rejected Twisha Sharma’s family’s plea for a second post-mortem but directed police to submit details on body preservation facilities in hospitals across Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh: A court in Bhopal on Wednesday dismissed a plea filed by the family of Twisha Sharma requesting a second post-mortem examination in connection with her alleged suicide case.
According to the petition, the family requested a fresh post-mortem after Twisha was found dead at her matrimonial home in the Katara Hills area on May 12. The situation is being looked into as a possible suicide.
The court dismissed the plea while also directing the Katara Hills Police Station to promptly gather written information from medical facilities about the availability of low-temperature body preservation capabilities.
The court especially requested information on whether hospitals and medical schools in Madhya Pradesh, including those located in large towns, have the necessary cold storage facilities for body preservation. It also directed authorities to submit a detailed report on the matter at the earliest.

Madhya Pradesh Government Assures Support to Twisha Sharma’s Family
The family of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma, whose death led to intense public outrage and discussion, has received help from the Madhya Pradesh government. The assurance came after her family met Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at the state secretariat on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister reassured the family throughout the conversation that the government would support them during the investigation and offer all available help. A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into the issue would be recommended by the state government, he added.

In an effort to learn more about the circumstances behind Twisha's death, the family has continuously called for an impartial investigation.
Twisha Found Dead at Matrimonial Home in Bhopal
Twisha Sharma, originally from Noida in Uttar Pradesh, was employed in the field of marketing and communications. On May 12, she was discovered dead at her married home in Bhopal's Katara Hills neighborhood.
Twisha's family claims that just before she passed away, she spoke to them and expressed her extreme distress. They said that she had talked about problems in her married home and called her living arrangements intolerable.
After meeting via a dating app, she wed Samarth Singh, a lawyer from Bhopal, in 2025. It is said that after a year, their relationship developed into marriage. But according to the family, issues started to surface shortly after the wedding.
After the incident, Twisha was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her dead. Police reportedly found no suicide note at the scene.
Following Twisha Sharma’s death, her family has accused her husband, Samarth Singh, and his mother, retired judge Giribala Singh, of involvement in the case and has alleged foul play.
