I think these 3 keywords are applicable also here today in the Nordic setting. We do appreciate that. So, I want to thank you for the excellent cooperation we have on the closed partnerships bilaterally, but also in the Nordic format. We all are convinced and excited about the fact that the new opportunities that the EU-India Free Trade Agreement will bring those to India and to Europe as a whole. We succeeded indeed in concluding our landmark trade agreement – we call it the mother of all deals... we are committed to signing the agreement by the end of the year and making it fully operational at record speed."

She added, "The trade agreement opened the door; an investment agreement walks us through this door. And from this foundation, member states like Sweden can build stronger bilateral ties with India. The new strategic partnership is proof of this. And this is exactly how it should be: the commitment to double economic exchange between the two countries in the next 5 years. That is the ambition that Europe needs. I hope that other member states will follow Sweden's good example."

He said, "Today, I have come to invite you to work together with India. Over the past 12 years, India has followed the core mantra of 'Reform, Perform, and Transform,' and driven by the government's political will, this reform express is racing ahead at full speed."

The presence of Ursula von der Leyen today makes this occasion even more special. During her visit to India this past January, we took several historic decisions aimed at elevating India-EU relations to new heights. Progress is being made on all those outcomes. The India-EU FTA will unlock new opportunities for industries, investors, and innovators. To quote Ursula, this is the ‘Mother of All Deals’."
